You must also enable \u201crecord from this computer\u201d when you connect to the remote machine. You can perform this procedure only if your local computer is running Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, to record audio, you must have an audio recording device configured on your computer, or on a remote machine if you access Microsoft Feedback Client, Test Runner, or Exploratory Testing from a remote device.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Note<\/strong>: We recommend that you open Microsoft Feedback Client on your local computer. Redirection will decrease audio quality. Microsoft Feedback Client does not require you to record audio as part of the feedback session.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>To set a default microphone on your local computer<\/h2>\n<p>To record audio from your local computer, you must set a microphone device as the default device.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Choose <strong>Start<\/strong>, <strong>Control Panel<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>In the Control Panel window, choose the <strong>Hardware and Sound<\/strong> link, and then choose <strong>Sound<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>In the Sound window, choose the <strong>Recording<\/strong> tab.<\/li>\n<li>Select a recording device from the list provided and then choose <strong>Set Default<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2>To enable remote audio capture<\/h2>\n<p>\u00a0<img decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/devblogs.microsoft.com\/devops\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2012\/08\/1460.ALM_RM_RemoteAudio.png\" \/><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>\n<p>Choose <strong>Start<\/strong>, choose <strong>Run<\/strong>, enter <strong>regedit<\/strong>, choose the <strong>OK<\/strong> button, and then set the value of the following registry key to <strong>0<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-family: courier new,courier\">HKLMSYSTEMCurrentControlSetControlTerminal ServerWinStationsRDP-TcpfDisableAudioCapture<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Important<\/strong>:<br \/>\nIf you edit the registry incorrectly, you might severely damage your system.
