{"id":34445,"date":"2017-07-25T14:40:17","date_gmt":"2017-07-25T14:40:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.msdn.microsoft.com\/devops\/?p=34445"},"modified":"2019-02-14T15:51:27","modified_gmt":"2019-02-14T23:51:27","slug":"velocity-widget-available-for-analytics-extensions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/devblogs.microsoft.com\/devops\/velocity-widget-available-for-analytics-extensions\/","title":{"rendered":"Velocity Widget available for the VSTS Analytics Extension"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.visualstudio.com\/en-us\/docs\/report\/widget-catalog#velocity-team-scoped\">Velocity Widget<\/a> is now available for those who&#8217;ve installed the <a href=\"https:\/\/marketplace.visualstudio.com\/items?itemName=ms.vss-analytics\">Analytics Extension<\/a> on their Visual Studio Team Services (VSTS) accounts.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"553\" height=\"366\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-34447 size-full\" alt=\"Velocity Widget for Analytics Extension\" src=\"https:\/\/devblogs.microsoft.com\/devops\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2017\/07\/velocitywidget.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The Velocity Widget provides functionality not available in the Velocity Chart displayed on the Backlog view, such as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Show velocity for any team, not just the current team<\/li>\n<li>Show velocity for any backlog level or work item type, not just the Stories backlog.<\/li>\n<li>Calculate velocity by sum of any field, not just Story Points. Or, by count of any work item type.<\/li>\n<li>Show planned vs. actual. Did you deliver what you actually planned?<\/li>\n<li>Highlight work that was completed late, after the sprint<\/li>\n<li>It supports sizing to 1&#215;1, for when you just want a tile to show your average velocity:<img decoding=\"async\" width=\"104\" height=\"106\" class=\"wp-image-34455 size-full aligncenter\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/devblogs.microsoft.com\/devops\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2017\/07\/velocitywidget-1x1.png\" \/><b><\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you haven&#8217;t already, install <a href=\"https:\/\/marketplace.visualstudio.com\/items?itemName=ms.vss-analytics\">the Analytics Extension<\/a> to get access to the Velocity Widget as well as widgets for Lead Time, Cycle Time, and a Cumulative Flow Diagram.<\/p>\n<p>We will be publishing more widgets for the Analytics Extension in the coming months, such as Burndown, Burnup, and Trend.
