Also, when Update 2 RC is available, you can always install that to fix your problem)<\/font><\/p>\n<p>For those of you installing the VS Update 2 \u2013 CTP3, there is an installation sequence that will put the web access work item tracking in a state where editing work items displays this error:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"clip_image001\" border=\"0\" alt=\"clip_image001\" src=\"https:\/\/devblogs.microsoft.com\/devops\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2013\/02\/4747.clip_image001_thumb_1C408C5D.jpg\" width=\"719\" height=\"332\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>If you install<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>VS 2012 RTM<\/li>\n<li>VS 2012 \u2013 Update 1<\/li>\n<li>VS 2012 \u2013 Update 2 \u2013 CTP3<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>and<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>TFS 2012 RTM<\/li>\n<li>TFS 2012 Update 1<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>but do not install<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>TFS 2012 Update 2 \u2013 CTP3<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>**<u>and<\/u> **your VS is installed on the same box as your TFS Server,<\/p>\n<p>You can run into a situation where your DLLs are mismatched and you receive the above error.<\/p>\n<p>Your workaround is to follow these steps:\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>msiexec \/uninstall &#8220;C:ProgramDataPackage Cache{21A32668-4A9D-3F8F-A9B7-02848DD5337B}v11.0.60204packagesTFSObjectModelx64coreTFSObjectModel-x64.msi&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>msiexec \/uninstall &#8220;C:ProgramDataPackage Cache{7A5DB6D6-926A-3E9B-B1DA-F579AEF00EA0}v11.0.60204packagesTFSObjectModelx64enuTFSObjectModelLP-x64_ENU.msi&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>From Programs and Features, search for and find your installation of Team Foundation Server, and then select Repair<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>This will revert TFS OM to match the version of the TFS Server, and your DLLs should be in synch again.<\/p>\n<p>This is all be tracked under this Connect bug: <a href=\"http:\/\/connect.microsoft.com\/VisualStudio\/feedback\/details\/779130\/team-foundation-server-2012\" title=\"http:\/\/connect.microsoft.com\/VisualStudio\/feedback\/details\/779130\/team-foundation-server-2012\">http:\/\/connect.microsoft.com\/VisualStudio\/feedback\/details\/779130\/team-foundation-server-2012<\/a>.
