The term \u201cPrivate Preview\u201d simply means we\u2019re not quite ready to turn these new widgets on for all customers; instead, we are selectively on-boarding accounts. The new widgets are built on top of our new Analytics Service (AX) and designed to provide additional insight beyond what\u2019s currently available in VSTS. We\u2019re planning to accept up to 200 accounts into the private preview.<\/p>\n<p><del>If you\u2019re interested in having these widgets turned on for your account, please email us at <a href=\"mailto:vstsaxfeedback@microsoft.com?subject=ALM%20Blog%20Analytics%20Private%20Preview\">vstsaxfeedback@microsoft.com<\/a>. Include your full name, and the URL of your account.<\/del><\/p>\n<h3>Lead Time<\/h3>\n<p>Lead time is defined as the time between work item creation, and work item completion.\u00a0 Lead Time helps you understand how long it takes for work requested by a customer to be delivered. In addition, you can identify and investigate outliers, as well as see trends. Reducing your lead time leads to quicker innovations and happier customers.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>On average, how long does a customer request take to be fulfilled?<\/li>\n<li>Did this feature take longer than usual to complete?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/devblogs.microsoft.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2019\/05\/Lead-Time.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/devblogs.microsoft.com\/devops\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2017\/05\/Lead-Time-500x321.png\" alt=\"lead-time\" width=\"500\" height=\"321\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-31225 size-mediumlarge\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Cycle Time<\/h3>\n<p>Cycle time is defined as the time a work item spends in development before it is closed. Cycle time helps you analyze the time it takes to deliver work from your backlog. A lower cycle time is typically indicative of a healthier team process.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>On average, how long does it take my team to build a feature or fix a bug?<\/li>\n<li>Are bugs costing my team a lot of development time?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/devblogs.microsoft.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2019\/05\/Cycle-Time.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/devblogs.microsoft.com\/devops\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2017\/05\/Cycle-Time-500x317.png\" alt=\"cycle-time\" width=\"500\" height=\"317\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-31215 size-mediumlarge\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Cumulative Flow Diagram (CFD)<\/h3>\n<p>The CFD widget is a configurable chart that shows the count of work items (over time) for each column of a Kanban board.
