How to execute a manual test\u00a0run but display different results in a single\u00a0test runs view?<\/h2>\n<p>(In a Visual Studio Team Services Project: Test &gt; Runs Open a manual Test run)<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/devblogs.microsoft.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2019\/05\/image119.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"border: 0px\" title=\"image\" src=\"https:\/\/devblogs.microsoft.com\/devops\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2016\/03\/image_thumb90.png\" alt=\"image\" width=\"502\" height=\"231\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h2><\/h2>\n<h2>Get the column\/row data populated in the test chart dialog<\/h2>\n<p>The column\/row data made available to you in the Test chart dialog comes from the columns you have displayed in the Tests view.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/devblogs.microsoft.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2019\/05\/image120.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"border: 0px\" title=\"image\" src=\"https:\/\/devblogs.microsoft.com\/devops\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2016\/03\/image_thumb92.png\" alt=\"image\" width=\"549\" height=\"324\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>For instance all the columns have been added in the Test View except for \u201cActivated\u201d therefore you don\u2019t get it as an option for a chart.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/devblogs.microsoft.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2019\/05\/image122.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"border: 0px\" title=\"image\" src=\"https:\/\/devblogs.microsoft.com\/devops\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2016\/03\/image_thumb93.png\" alt=\"image\" width=\"558\" height=\"305\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Displaying iterations in a manual test run<\/h2>\n<p>Iterations in a manual Test Run are displayed when you have a parameter in a test case.<\/p>\n<p>For instance in the test case below there are four parameters for the \u201cadd review\u201d step\u2026So the test will run through four iterations.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/devblogs.microsoft.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2019\/05\/image123.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"border: 0px\" title=\"image\" src=\"https:\/\/devblogs.microsoft.com\/devops\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2016\/03\/image_thumb94.png\" alt=\"image\" width=\"456\" height=\"356\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Running this test case and looking at the Test Runs, iteration data is now displayed in the result summary view .<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/devblogs.microsoft.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2019\/05\/image124.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"border: 0px\" title=\"image\" src=\"https:\/\/devblogs.microsoft.com\/devops\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2016\/03\/image_thumb95.png\" alt=\"image\" width=\"469\" height=\"328\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Executing multiple manual tests at once and see the results in a single test runs view<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>To have multiple manual test cases appear in a single run you need to select all the test cases you want in that run when you start the test runner. (not certain why i keep forgetting this one!)<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/devblogs.microsoft.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2019\/05\/image125.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"border: 0px\" title=\"image\" src=\"https:\/\/devblogs.microsoft.com\/devops\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2016\/03\/image_thumb96.png\" alt=\"image\" width=\"450\" height=\"357\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>While the dialog above has the the same test case selected but with different configurations, the test cases can be different.<\/p>\n<p>The test run summary dialog below shows run information for five different test runs from four different test cases with two different configurations.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/devblogs.microsoft.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2019\/05\/image126.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"border: 0px\" title=\"image\" src=\"https:\/\/devblogs.microsoft.com\/devops\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2016\/03\/image_thumb97.png\" alt=\"image\" width=\"588\" height=\"296\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/devblogs.microsoft.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2019\/05\/image127.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"border: 0px\" title=\"image\" src=\"https:\/\/devblogs.microsoft.com\/devops\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2016\/03\/image_thumb98.png\" alt=\"image\" width=\"603\" height=\"221\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I seem to get these three questions about Manual Testing on a regular basis and thought i would share the answers: \u00a01.
