Unfortunately, a set of setup & deployment issues have been reported with the Visual C++ 2008 Feature Pack.<\/a> Some of these are blocking issues and, as a result, we are currently working on a refresh of the Feature Pack. \u00a0In the interim, a list of the issues and their workarounds is provided below.\u00a0 These issues will all be addressed via the refresh.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Before installing the Feature Pack, change the Regional & Language settings as follows:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

On XP: \u00a0Control Panel ->Regional and Language Options->Regional Options, set \u201cStandards and Formats\u201d to \u201cEnglish(United States)\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

On Vista: : Control Panel ->Regional and Language Options->Formats, set \u201cCurrent Format\u201d to \u201cEnglish(United States)\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Once installation completes, you can restore your Regional & Language settings.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

VCRedist_x86.exe failed to install on Vista and Windows Server 2008<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

No current workaround. We are working on publishing a fixed VCRedist_x86.exe<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

\n

VCRedist_x86.exe installs the ATL and OpenMP assemblies with the wrong processor architecture, which will cause ATL and OpenMP applications targeting x86 to fail.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

No current workaround. We are working on publishing a fixed VCRedist_x86.exe<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
