{"id":24205,"date":"2016-03-30T19:51:42","date_gmt":"2016-03-30T19:51:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/devblogs.microsoft.com\/cppblog\/?p=24205"},"modified":"2019-04-30T19:56:17","modified_gmt":"2019-04-30T19:56:17","slug":"announcing-the-vc-2015-migration-virtual-development-laboratory","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/devblogs.microsoft.com\/cppblog\/announcing-the-vc-2015-migration-virtual-development-laboratory\/","title":{"rendered":"Announcing the VC++ 2015 Migration Virtual Development Laboratory"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Visual C++ Team is pleased to announce the VC++ 2015 Migration Virtual Development Laboratory (Virtual DevLab) which will run from April 18th through September 30th of this year.<\/p>\n<p>A Virtual DevLab is a kind of remote assistance where Microsoft&#8217;s Visual C++ Team will help you with questions and code inspection. Most of the time will be spent helping you port your C++ codebase to Visual Studio 2015, so please consider participating if you are looking to migrate to VS2015. The Virtual DevLab is free.<\/p>\n<p>For each Virtual DevLab, we will organize a series of video or audio calls with screen sharing in order for us to view your code and compile\/link errors. An NDA will be signed before starting the DevLab.<\/p>\n<p>Members of the Visual C++ Team will be available for 1:1 interaction and to gather feedback on your porting experience. In addition, team members will be asking for your opinions on the features planned for the next release of Visual Studio.<\/p>\n<p>This is an opportunity to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Get help port existing code to Visual C++ \/ Visual Studio 2015<\/li>\n<li>Extend applications with new C++ conformance features (including Coroutines, STL C++17 Features, and more)<\/li>\n<li>Learn more about refactoring, enhanced build speed, and other productivity improvements<\/li>\n<li>Provide feedback on your experiences working with Visual C++ and your future plans, and suggest potential features<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Participation is limited due to limited bandwidth from the Visual C++ Team (April to September 2016). This event is <b>by invitation only<\/b> and <b>invitations are not transferable<\/b>.
