Today, Soma announced<\/a> the availability of the Visual Studio 2012 Update 1! You can install it either from the download page<\/a> (see “Visual Studio 2012 Update 1” under the “Additional software” section).<\/span><\/p>\n

As promised<\/a>, you can now use the Visual C++ compiler and libraries to target Windows XP and Windows Server 2003. To target Windows XP:<\/p>\n

  1. In Solution Explorer<\/span><\/strong>, open the shortcut menu for your project, and then choose Properties<\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  2. In the Property Pages<\/span><\/strong> dialog box for the project, under Configuration Properties<\/span><\/strong>, General<\/span><\/strong>, set the Platform Toolset<\/span><\/strong> property to Visual Studio 2012 – Windows XP (v110_xp)<\/strong>.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
