It comes with built-in support for OpenCV image types (e.g. cv::Mat, cv::Mat_&lt;&gt; , etc.).<\/p>\n<p>We know that, for many of you, this is an important part of your C++ debugging experience. We have received many requests to support this extension on Visual Studio 2017 via survey responses, blog comments and Reddit conversations.<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019re happy to announce that Image Watch for Visual Studio 2017 is <a href=\"https:\/\/marketplace.visualstudio.com\/items?itemName=VisualCPPTeam.ImageWatch2017\">now available for download in Visual Studio Marketplace<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1052\" height=\"578\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-17885\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/devblogs.microsoft.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2019\/02\/image-watch-2017.png\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>Getting started with OpenCV and Image Watch<\/h3>\n<p>You can try Image Watch with any OpenCV program. You will need the OpenCV library installed on your developer machine to be able to compile these programs. You can run the following vcpkg commands to download and compile OpenCV on your machine:<\/p>\n<p><strong>1. Install vcpkg (Skip if you already have a working vcpkg installation):<\/strong><\/p>\n<pre class=\"prettyprint disable-colors\">\ngit clone https:\/\/github.com\/Microsoft\/vcpkg.git\ncd vcpkg\n.\\bootstrap-vcpkg.bat\nvcpkg integrate install<\/pre>\n<p><strong>2. Install OpenCV<\/strong><\/p>\n<pre class=\"prettyprint disable-colors\">vcpkg install opencv<\/pre>\n<p>If you are looking for a place to start with OpenCV, you can use the <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.opencv.org\/2.4\/doc\/tutorials\/introduction\/windows_visual_studio_image_watch\/windows_visual_studio_image_watch.html\">example provided in the Image Watch tutorial on opencv.org<\/a>. Create a new C++ project from <strong>File<\/strong> &gt; <strong>New<\/strong> &gt; <strong>Project\u2026<\/strong> &gt; <strong>Visual C++<\/strong> &gt; <strong>Windows Desktop,<\/strong> by selecting the <strong>Windows Console Application<\/strong> template.
