Last week we announced Visual Studio is <\/span><\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.msdn.microsoft.com\/vcblog\/2017\/10\/24\/unit-testing-test-adapter-for-google-test-goes-in-box\/\"><span style=\"font-size: 11.0pt;font-family: 'Calibri',sans-serif\">shipping with Google Test support<\/span><\/a><span class=\"normaltextrun1\"><span style=\"font-size: 11.0pt;font-family: 'Calibri',sans-serif\">. This week, we are excited to reveal that <b>Visual Studio now<\/b> <b>ships with Boost.Test support<\/b>. As of Visual Studio 2017 15.5 Preview 3, you can write, discover, and run all of your Boost.Test unit tests using Visual Studio&#8217;s testing tools right out of the box.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph\" style=\"vertical-align: baseline\"><span class=\"normaltextrun1\"><span style=\"font-size: 11.0pt;font-family: 'Calibri',sans-serif\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span class=\"normaltextrun1\"><span style=\"font-size: 11.0pt;font-family: 'Calibri',sans-serif\">New installations of Visual Studio will install Boost.Test by default; however, if you are upgrading from a previous version, you will need to open &#8220;Visual Studio Installer&#8221;\u009d, click &#8220;Modify&#8221;\u009d on your Visual Studio 15.5 instance, and select &#8220;Test Adapter for Boost.Test&#8221;\u009d under &#8220;Desktop development with C++&#8221;(shown below).<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph\" style=\"vertical-align: baseline\"><span class=\"normaltextrun1\"><span style=\"font-size: 11.0pt;font-family: 'Calibri',sans-serif\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span class=\"normaltextrun1\"><b><span style=\"font-size: 11.0pt;font-family: 'Calibri',sans-serif\">Note<\/span><\/b><\/span><span class=\"normaltextrun1\"><span style=\"font-size: 11.0pt;font-family: 'Calibri',sans-serif\">: <i>If you previously installed our &#8220;Test Adapter for Boost.Test&#8221; extension from the VS Marketplace, you should uninstall it before using this updated adapter.<\/i><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph\" style=\"vertical-align: baseline\"><a href=\"https:\/\/devblogs.microsoft.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2019\/02\/boost_modify2.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"879\" height=\"355\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-17405\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/devblogs.microsoft.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2019\/02\/boost_modify2-1024x414.png\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph\" style=\"vertical-align: baseline\"><span class=\"normaltextrun1\"><span style=\"font-size: 11.0pt;font-family: 'Calibri',sans-serif\">Once installed, you can build your Boost.Test project, and Visual Studio will automatically detect your unit tests and populate the Test Explorer Window. If you don&#8217;t see the Test Explorer Window, simply add it by going to <i>Test &gt; Windows &gt; Test Explorer<\/i>.
