It&#8217;s our biggest release yet. This update adds <strong>support for local models<\/strong>, lets you run <strong>a different agent in each tab<\/strong> with <code>\/agent<\/code>, brings <strong>OpenCode<\/strong> into the built-in agent lineup, runs your agent <strong>inside WSL<\/strong> where your work actually lives, and makes the <strong>Agent Pane<\/strong> richer to navigate and easier to read. It also sharpens Autofix and fixes a long list of reliability issues.<\/p>\n<p>You can grab the update from the <a href=\"https:\/\/apps.microsoft.com\/detail\/9NMQC2SSJX24\">Microsoft Store<\/a>, via <code>winget install Microsoft.IntelligentTerminal<\/code>, or by <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/microsoft\/intelligent-terminal\/releases\/tag\/v0.2.0\">heading to the release page<\/a> on GitHub. With 0.2, we&#8217;re adding support for local models in the Agent Pane, so you can run your agent workflows against a model on your own machine, keeping them private, offline, and free of cloud dependencies.<\/p>\n<p>Setting it up takes a few clicks. In the agent&#8217;s settings, open the BYOM (bring your own model) providers section, click Add New, and point it at your endpoint by filling in a Base URL and Model ID. Save, then pick your new provider from the Model dropdown. Following <code>\/fix<\/code> and <code>\/model<\/code> in the last release, 0.2 adds a few more:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><code>\/agent<\/code> runs a different agent in every tab.<\/strong> Different jobs call for different agents. With <code>\/agent<\/code>, each tab can run a specific agent that best fits the work in front of you, without disturbing the agents running in your other tabs. Have Copilot in one tab&#8217;s agent pane, Claude in another, and Codex in a third! Pick from installed and policy-allowed agents in a picker, or complete an agent name inline as you type. Use it in the Agent Pane for chat and Autofix, resume its previous sessions, and optionally install tracking hooks so your interactive OpenCode sessions show up in session management. No custom-agent command required.<\/p>\n<h3>Bring your agent into WSL<\/h3>\n<p>Your work often lives inside a WSL distribution, and now your agent can too. Both your Agent Pane agent and <code>?&lt;prompt&gt;<\/code> delegation agent can now be configured per profile in Intelligent Terminal settings. Choose a Windows-hosted or distro-local WSL agent for each, so every profile uses the right tools, paths, and working directory. Unconfigured profiles continue to use the global defaults.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/devblogs.microsoft.com\/commandline\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/33\/2026\/08\/ubuntu-agent.webp\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/devblogs.microsoft.com\/commandline\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/33\/2026\/08\/ubuntu-agent-1024x598.webp\" alt=\"ubuntu agent image\" width=\"1024\" height=\"598\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-11706\" srcset=\"https:\/\/devblogs.microsoft.com\/commandline\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/33\/2026\/08\/ubuntu-agent-1024x598.webp 1024w, https:\/\/devblogs.microsoft.com\/commandline\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/33\/2026\/08\/ubuntu-agent-300x175.webp 300w, https:\/\/devblogs.microsoft.com\/commandline\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/33\/2026\/08\/ubuntu-agent-768x449.webp 768w, https:\/\/devblogs.microsoft.com\/commandline\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/33\/2026\/08\/ubuntu-agent-1536x897.webp 1536w, https:\/\/devblogs.microsoft.com\/commandline\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/33\/2026\/08\/ubuntu-agent-2048x1196.webp 2048w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3>A richer, easier-to-read Agent Pane<\/h3>\n<p>The Agent Pane got a wave of quality-of-life upgrades:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Mouse navigation and copy.<\/strong> Scroll precisely, drag to select, double-click a word, triple-click a line, and press Ctrl+C to copy Unicode-safe selections.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Recall recent prompts.<\/strong> Press Up and Down to walk back through your recent prompts, up to 50 per tab, with drafts and multiline input preserved.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Clearer activity.<\/strong> Thinking stays visible in a stable row while work is in flight, and tool calls now show animated states, operation glyphs, and the concrete paths or commands they touch, so you always know what the agent is doing.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Colors that match your pane.<\/strong> Title bars, text, dividers, and agent logos now adapt to each pane&#8217;s background instead of staying hard-coded black.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Token usage at a glance.<\/strong> The agent status bar can now show your token usage and cost as you work, so you can keep an eye on consumption without leaving the terminal. Screenshots and copied image files are sent to the agent as an image content block, so you can show your agent a diagram, an error screenshot, or a UI mockup instead of describing it (acting on the image depends on the agent&#8217;s own image support). In 0.2, pasted image attachments are also editable and uniquely numbered, so they behave predictably as you move the cursor, delete, restore drafts, or navigate history.<\/p>\n<h3>Smarter Autofix<\/h3>\n<p>Autofix now recognizes more real-world failures, including Windows PowerShell 5.1 runtime errors, PowerShell parser errors, Bash prompt cycles, and command-not-found cases, and produces safer correction suggestions. It also understands your actual pane environment, resolving PowerShell profile aliases, local scripts, and your working directory instead of offering generic advice for commands you already have.<\/p>\n<h3>Reliability and improvements<\/h3>\n<p>Alongside the features above, 0.2 includes a long list of reliability and quality improvements. Terminal session restore. Just like the agent session management you have today, we want your actual shell sessions, your tabs, panes, and running context, to be saved and brought back whenever you want, and browsable in your session management list. Close the window, come back later, and pick up right where you left off. We&#8217;re actively working on this, along with several major features you&#8217;ve asked us for.
