{"id":3833,"date":"2006-07-19T22:45:00","date_gmt":"2006-07-19T22:45:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.msdn.microsoft.com\/buckh\/2006\/07\/19\/removing-the-team-foundation-server-association-in-microsoft-project-and-microsoft-excel-files\/"},"modified":"2006-07-19T22:45:00","modified_gmt":"2006-07-19T22:45:00","slug":"removing-the-team-foundation-server-association-in-microsoft-project-and-microsoft-excel-files","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/devblogs.microsoft.com\/buckh\/removing-the-team-foundation-server-association-in-microsoft-project-and-microsoft-excel-files\/","title":{"rendered":"Removing the Team Foundation Server association in Microsoft Project and Microsoft Excel files"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Here&#8217;s a handy tip if you find yourself needing to disassociate or unbind a Microsoft Project (.mpp) or Microsoft Excel (.xls) file from a Team Foundation Server, perhaps because you changed the name of the server, the server no longer exists, etc.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Microsoft Project<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Yogita Manghnani, a PM&nbsp;for TFS, <a href=\"http:\/\/forums.microsoft.com\/MSDN\/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=273633&amp;SiteID=1\">posted the following process<\/a> in the&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/forums.microsoft.com\/MSDN\/ShowForum.aspx?ForumID=22&amp;SiteID=1\">Team Foundation Server MSDN forum<\/a>.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Close Microsoft Project \n<\/li>\n<li>Right click on the mpp file and choose Properties. \n<\/li>\n<li>Choose the Custom tab in the Properties window. \n<\/li>\n<li>Choose any Property listed there named &#8220;VS &nbsp;Team System Data Do Not Edit&#8221; and click Remove. \n<\/li>\n<li>Click Apply or Ok. \n<\/li>\n<li>Open the mpp file, and you will get a message saying its not associated with any TFS server.
