{"id":3603,"date":"2006-08-24T09:28:47","date_gmt":"2006-08-24T09:28:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.msdn.microsoft.com\/buckh\/2006\/08\/24\/dev-lead-for-team-build\/"},"modified":"2006-08-24T09:28:47","modified_gmt":"2006-08-24T09:28:47","slug":"dev-lead-for-team-build","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/devblogs.microsoft.com\/buckh\/dev-lead-for-team-build\/","title":{"rendered":"Dev lead for Team Build"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><p>For three years I worked on Team Foundation Server Version Control.&nbsp; Most of my contributions were to the version control object model, the tf.exe command line, and general infrastructure.&nbsp; After v1 shipped in March, we reorganized the TFS organization. <\/p>\n<p>Version 1 of TFS Team Build was developed by a small team in India, led by <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.msdn.com\/gautamg\/\">Gautam<\/a>.&nbsp; As part of the April&nbsp;reorganization, the Team Build feature moved to North Carolina, and I became the dev lead.&nbsp; It&#8217;s still a small team, compared to&nbsp;version control and work item tracking. <\/p>\n<p>Durham, North Carolina&nbsp;is now&nbsp;home to the build automation, version control, and administration &amp; operations teams.&nbsp; The work item tracking, reporting, and office integration teams reside in Redmond.&nbsp; The office has grown to the point that it&#8217;s&nbsp;basically a 50\/50 split with Redmond. <\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve been trying to keep track of blogs that have posts about Team Build.&nbsp; If you blog about Team Build, please leave a comment on this post or <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.msdn.com\/buckh\/contact.aspx\">contact<\/a> me so that I can subscribe.&nbsp; If you have specific feedback on features you need to be more productive or event to&nbsp;consider using Team Build (yes, we know that happens), post a trackback to this post or <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.msdn.com\/buckh\/contact.aspx\">contact<\/a> me. <\/p>\n<p>If you have questions, the <a href=\"http:\/\/forums.microsoft.com\/MSDN\/ShowForum.aspx?ForumID=481&amp;SiteID=1\">MSDN Team Build forum<\/a> is a great place to get answers, both from the team at Microsoft&nbsp;and from the community. <\/p>\n<p>If you noticed a while back that I changed my blog&#8217;s subtitle,&nbsp;reorganized my links to Team Foundation blogs, and&nbsp;started writing about Team Build, you now know why.&nbsp; And just in case you are wondering, I&#8217;ll still write about version control as well.<\/p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>For three years I worked on Team Foundation Server Version Control.&nbsp; Most of my contributions were to the version control object model, the tf.exe command line, and general infrastructure.&nbsp; After v1 shipped in March, we reorganized the TFS organization.
