{"id":2333,"date":"2007-06-06T20:26:54","date_gmt":"2007-06-06T20:26:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.msdn.microsoft.com\/buckh\/2007\/06\/06\/specs-for-a-cctray-equivalent-for-team-build-and-tfs-hosting\/"},"modified":"2007-06-06T20:26:54","modified_gmt":"2007-06-06T20:26:54","slug":"specs-for-a-cctray-equivalent-for-team-build-and-tfs-hosting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/devblogs.microsoft.com\/buckh\/specs-for-a-cctray-equivalent-for-team-build-and-tfs-hosting\/","title":{"rendered":"Specs for a CCTray equivalent for Team Build and TFS Hosting"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.msdn.com\/jimlamb\/\">Jim Lamb<\/a>&nbsp;has posted a couple of specs recently.<\/p>\n<p>The first is a Windows tray app that notifies you when builds complete, like <a href=\"http:\/\/confluence.public.thoughtworks.org\/display\/CCNET\/CCTray\">CCTray<\/a> does for <a href=\"http:\/\/cruisecontrol.net\/\">CruiseControl.Net<\/a>.&nbsp; Due to the time constraints of the Orcas release, we were not able to implement this for the product, but we are considering releasing it as a power tool for Orcas, in addition to including it in Rosario.<\/p>\n<p>Rather than lots of dense text, the spec is really just a series of drawings of the UI, so please take a look.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p> <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.msdn.com\/jimlamb\/archive\/2007\/05\/15\/build-notification-applet.aspx\">Build Notification Applet<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Well, we&#8217;ve worked up an initial design for a notification applet that would run in your tray (er, I mean &#8220;notification area&#8221;) and keep you up-to-date on the status of the build definitions you&#8217;re interested in. Here&#8217;s an annotated storyboard that walks you through the design. Please post comments here and let me know what you think.
