In it he explains basic auth and Windows auth among other things. If you are using a self-signed certificate, the post will tell you how to add it to your client so that git.exe will work.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.msdn.com\/b\/phkelley\/archive\/2013\/10\/20\/git-network-operations-in-visual-studio-2013.aspx\"><strong>Git network operations in Visual Studio 2013<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Visual Studio 2013 includes in-the-box support for Git version control. That support includes the ability to perform Git network operations from inside of Visual Studio, such as cloning a repository, or performing a fetch, push, or pull operation on an existing repository.<\/p>\n<p>An endpoint for a clone, fetch, push, or pull operation in Git is called a &ldquo;remote.&rdquo; Visual Studio 2013&rsquo;s Git support contains support for remotes using the following protocols.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>HTTP (i.e. <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/libgit2\/TestGitRepository\">https:\/\/github.com\/libgit2\/TestGitRepository<\/a>, or <a href=\"https:\/\/yourname.visualstudio.com\/DefaultCollection\/_git\/YourRepo\">https:\/\/yourname.visualstudio.com\/DefaultCollection\/_git\/YourRepo<\/a>) <\/li>\n<li>File paths (i.e. F:\\myrepo.git, or <a href=\"\/\/servername\/sharename\/myrepo.git\">\\\\servername\\sharename\\myrepo.git<\/a>) <\/li>\n<li>git:\/\/ URIs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.msdn.com\/b\/phkelley\/archive\/2013\/10\/20\/git-network-operations-in-visual-studio-2013.aspx\">more&hellip;<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Philip Kelley has written a great blog post that explains using HTTPS with Team Foundation Server 2013.
