{"id":9691,"date":"2007-03-02T08:40:46","date_gmt":"2007-03-02T08:40:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.msdn.microsoft.com\/bharry\/2007\/03\/02\/updated-vs-2005-sdk-available\/"},"modified":"2018-08-14T00:34:16","modified_gmt":"2018-08-14T00:34:16","slug":"updated-vs-2005-sdk-available","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/devblogs.microsoft.com\/bharry\/updated-vs-2005-sdk-available\/","title":{"rendered":"Updated VS 2005 SDK Available"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Wow, it&#8217;s hard to keep up with all of the cool stuff for me to talk about!&nbsp; Yesterday we released an updated version of the VS SDK and it&#8217;s full of lots of cool new stuff.&nbsp; You can <a href=\"http:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/downloads\/details.aspx?FamilyID=51a5c65b-c020-4e08-8ac0-3eb9c06996f4&amp;displaylang=en\">download<\/a> it here if you want to check it out.&nbsp; You can also read more about it in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.eweek.com\/article2\/0%2C1895%2C2099624%2C00.asp\">eWeek<\/a>.\nI won&#8217;t list the wide array of improvements, but we (the TFS team) put a lot of effort into improving the TFS components of the SDK.&nbsp; We improved and expanded the documentation, added what you need to be able to write extensions that extend our VS IDE experience and more&#8230;&nbsp; Here&#8217;s a more comprehensive list of SDK enhancements for TFS:\n<strong>New Work Item Custom Control API Sample and Help Documentation<\/strong> &#8211; Demonstrates how to use the Work Item Custom Control APIs introduced in Visual Studio 2005 SP1.\n<strong>New Version Control Merge History API Documentation<\/strong> &#8211; Demonstrates how to use the enhanced QueryMergesWithDetails API introduced in Visual Studio 2005 SP1.\n<strong>Updated Team Explorer PcwTESample<\/strong> &#8211; This sample shows you how to write plugins to the Team Explorer and Project Creation Wizard and can be found in \\VisualStudioTeamSystemIntegration\\Team Explorer and Project Creation\\PcwTESample\\.\n<strong>Updated Team Foundation Server Collectibles Sample<\/strong> &#8211; Re-written to use best practices and updated ReadMe.doc to reflect new architecture.&nbsp; This sample can be found in \\VisualStudioTeamSystemIntegration\\Team Foundation Core Services\\ExtendingTeamFoundationSample\\.\n<strong>All Team Foundation Server Pubic Assemblies Updated to Visual Studio 2005 SP1<\/strong> &#8211; Making it easier for you to build extensions without having to rely on Team Explorer being installed to compile them.&nbsp; These assemblies can be found in \\VisualStudioIntegration\\Common\\Assemblies\\.\n<strong>Updated Team Foundation Server BisSubscribe.exe Tool <\/strong>&#8211; Now provides an unsubscribe capability.&nbsp; This tool was updated to the RTM version and can be found in \\VisualStudioTeamSystemIntegration\\Utilities\\EventSubscriptionTool\\.\n<strong>Added Visual Studio Team Explorer Package GUID&rsquo;s, Menu ID&rsquo;s and Group ID&rsquo;s Header Files<\/strong> &#8211; The newly provided header file contains the constants required for integrating with existing Team Explorer shortcut menus when you create Visual Studio Integration Package projects.
