{"id":12575,"date":"2017-01-23T14:00:44","date_gmt":"2017-01-23T19:00:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.msdn.microsoft.com\/bharry\/?p=12575"},"modified":"2019-02-16T22:46:06","modified_gmt":"2019-02-16T22:46:06","slug":"tfs-2017-update-1-rc-available","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/devblogs.microsoft.com\/bharry\/tfs-2017-update-1-rc-available\/","title":{"rendered":"TFS 2017 Update 1 RC available"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Today we released the Team Foundation Server 2017 Update 1 Release Candidate.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.visualstudio.com\/news\/releasenotes\/tfs2017-update1\">Release Notes<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/go.microsoft.com\/fwlink\/?LinkId=839593&amp;clcid=0x409\">Web Installer<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/go.microsoft.com\/fwlink\/?LinkId=839592&amp;clcid=0x409\">ISO Installer<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This release can be used for a fresh install or to upgrade any supported previous version.\u00a0 Here&#8217;s a chart showing the recommended upgrade paths from various TFS versions (you can substitute TFS 2017.1 in the rightmost column).\u00a0 The upgrade from any of the more recent versions should be smooth but upgrades from 2017 should be particularly easy.\n<a href=\"https:\/\/devblogs.microsoft.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2019\/02\/Upgrades.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"613\" height=\"273\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-12576\" alt=\"upgrades\" src=\"https:\/\/devblogs.microsoft.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2019\/02\/Upgrades.png\" \/><\/a>\nThis is a &#8220;go-live&#8221; release and can be used in production environments, will support upgrades to RTM and you can get support.\u00a0 This release is English only.\u00a0 We&#8217;ll provide the localized versions at RTM.\nYou can read the release notes for all the improvements (and it&#8217;s a crazy long list) but here are a few of my favorite highlights:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>New personalized account home page<\/li>\n<li>Tons of pull request improvements<\/li>\n<li>NPM support in package management<\/li>\n<li>Test impact analysis<\/li>\n<li>Versioning for build and release tasks<\/li>\n<li>and more&#8230;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We&#8217;re looking forward to any feedback you have.\u00a0 [At this point the feature set should be complete and we&#8217;re just refining it.] -&gt;\u00a0*** UPDATE 1\/25 ***: Hmm, I had a brain fart.\u00a0 I&#8217;m sorry.\u00a0 It turns out one more sprint worth of features will be going into Update 1.\u00a0 Sprint 112 will be the last features making it and those features will\u00a0be deployed to Team Services\u00a0starting this week,\u00a0 We should be starting to lock this release down in the next few weeks and will ship it as soon as it is ready.\nThanks,\nBrian\n&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Today we released the Team Foundation Server 2017 Update 1 Release Candidate.
