{"id":11783,"date":"2016-04-13T16:10:21","date_gmt":"2016-04-13T21:10:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.msdn.microsoft.com\/bharry\/?p=11783"},"modified":"2019-02-16T22:46:20","modified_gmt":"2019-02-16T22:46:20","slug":"vs-team-services-update-april-13","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/devblogs.microsoft.com\/bharry\/vs-team-services-update-april-13\/","title":{"rendered":"VS Team Services Update \u2013 April 13"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This week we are deploying our sprint 98 work to Visual Studio Team Services.\u00a0 You can read the <a href=\"http:\/\/visualstudio.com\/news\/2016-apr-13-vso\">release notes <\/a>for details of what&#8217;s included.\nFrom time to time, I like to cross reference the work we are releasing with UserVoice to make sure we are actually making progress on the top requests from our users.\u00a0 It&#8217;s good to see that we knocked off 3 long standing requests with hundreds of votes each this sprint.\n<a href=\"https:\/\/devblogs.microsoft.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2019\/02\/ChangeWorkItemType.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-11784\" src=\"https:\/\/devblogs.microsoft.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2019\/02\/ChangeWorkItemType.png\" alt=\"ChangeWorkItemType\" width=\"746\" height=\"122\" \/><\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/devblogs.microsoft.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2019\/02\/MoveWorkItem.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-11791\" src=\"https:\/\/devblogs.microsoft.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2019\/02\/MoveWorkItem.png\" alt=\"MoveWorkItem\" width=\"670\" height=\"106\" \/><\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/devblogs.microsoft.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2019\/02\/RealTimeBoard.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-11793\" src=\"https:\/\/devblogs.microsoft.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2019\/02\/RealTimeBoard.png\" alt=\"RealTimeBoard\" width=\"752\" height=\"128\" \/><\/a>\nIn addition to those, this sprint includes a bunch of other cool things.\u00a0 A couple I&#8217;ve heard a lot or requests for lately:\n<strong>Follow work item<\/strong> &#8211; the ability to easily flag\/unflag an item so you get change notifications.\u00a0 This, along with @mentions, really increases the ease of collaborations.\u00a0 Expect the &#8220;Follow&#8221; metaphor to get applied to other artifacts (like pull requests, releases, etc.) now that we&#8217;ve got the plumbing in place.\n<strong>Release dashboard widget<\/strong> &#8211; show the status of a release definition on the dashboard.\u00a0 I&#8217;ve seen a request for this at least have a dozen times in the last month or so.\nWe also made progress on our journey towards &#8220;organization&#8221; support that will allow many team project collections to be grouped under an organization and better separate administrative concerns between the organizational administrator and the team project collection administrator.\u00a0 This is another top UserVoice item and we got a bit more progress on it.\nLots of other cool stuff too.\u00a0 I hope you like it.\u00a0 Next sprint, we are going to *finally* have a checkbox control on our work item form.\u00a0 That&#8217;s got to just about hold the record for the longest living, most ignored UserVoice item.\u00a0 I&#8217;m going to be happy to finally check that one off the list.\nAs always, we love to hear any feedback you have.\nBrian\n&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This week we are deploying our sprint 98 work to Visual Studio Team Services.\u00a0 You can read the release notes for details of what&#8217;s included.
