I’m here in Denver, Colorado where the sun shines bright and the snow is white! I spoke at a Microsoft event yesterday on Visual Basic 9 language features including LINQ and XML Literals and I had a great turn out for the session.
Man! I haven’t blogged all week and I’m going through withdrawal. I’ve been up in Redmond with the gang and back-to-back meetings all day and meet-and-greet dinners every night make it hard to have time to answer emails let alone blog. But now I’m up in Victoria,
Tim Heuer and Joe Shirey are putting together free developer and architect focused events in Phoenix and Denver and I’ll be there speaking on all things new and good in Visual Basic 9.
I plan on showing practical examples of LINQ and Visual Basic’s unique expression syntax and as we write the queries I’ll show how the new language features tie into them to make them work.
I’ll be speaking at the Victoria Code Camp on January 26th so if you’re in the area and you have nothing else to do on your Saturday come on up to beautiful Victoria. This is going to be a GREAT code camp!
I’ll be speaking at DevTeach this year in Montreal May 14th-18th. DevTeach and SQLTeach has over 60 speakers and over 100 sessions with pre and post conference sessions as well. This conference is packed with a lot of great information on .NET and SQL-Server.
On Thursday night I gave a brief overview of the next version of Visual Studio code named “Orcas” using the March CTP to the East Bay.NET FUNdamentals session. I went through building a simple n-tier application from scratch using the new and improved designers.
Tomorrow night (Wednesday), I’ll be speaking at the BAADD UG meeting at the Microsoft (Landmark) building on One Market. The talk is on LINQ and Visual Basic.
Here’s the details:
The next meeting of the BAADD San Francisco .NET Developer’s User Group will be next Wednesday,
