You can now run Windows 10 to run Dev\/Test scenarios or with your Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) solution, all in your Azure Government Subscription.<\/p>\n<p>To get started, select Windows10 in the Portal to deploy, and click create, follow the steps in the opened blade.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"974\" height=\"149\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-8335\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/devblogs.microsoft.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/43\/2019\/03\/W1.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Win10 Client is a Pro image out of the box, but you can upgrade it to Enterprise through the steps below.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1568\" height=\"882\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-8325\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/devblogs.microsoft.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/43\/2019\/03\/W2.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Customers activate the Enterprise version to unlock Windows Enterprise features for use with VDI.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Requirements for Enterprise activation: <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Customers need to hold the appropriate license for use rights for Windows Enterprise with Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) hosted on Azure Government.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Any of the following provide VDI rights on Azure Government, please see the Product Terms for details, or click <a href=\"https:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/en-us\/Licensing\/product-licensing\/FAQ-product-licensing.aspx\">here<\/a>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>Windows 10 Enterprise E3 or E5 Per User,<\/li>\n<li>Windows 10 Enterprise VDA E3 or E5 Per User<\/li>\n<li>Microsoft 365 Enterprise E3 or E5 Per User<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><u>Variations:<\/u> Activation to enterprise for Government customers. Windows recently GA&#8217;d <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.microsoft.com\/en-us\/windows\/deployment\/windows-10-enterprise-subscription-activation\">Enterprise Subscription Activation<\/a> for commercial customers. Subscription based activation is not yet supported for customers using Government AAD offerings. Until that procedure is fully supported, Windows is allowing activation through the steps outlined below for Government customers.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Once you&#8217;ve deployed a Windows Pro image to your subscription, you can upgrade that image to Enterprise through activation.\n<ul>\n<li>Activation can instead be done through <a href=\"https:\/\/technet.microsoft.com\/en-us\/library\/dd772269.aspx\">KMS<\/a>. Steps below:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol>\n<li>Open in a separate browser window <a href=\"https:\/\/technet.microsoft.com\/en-us\/library\/jj612867(v=ws.11).aspx\">Appendix A<\/a>, and go to Windows 10 in the product table.<\/li>\n<li>Connect to your Azure Government hosted VM. In the OS, Go to Settings&gt;&gt; Activation&gt; Update Product Key.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"695\" height=\"457\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-8315\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/devblogs.microsoft.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/43\/2019\/03\/W3.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Enter the appropriate Product key from <a href=\"https:\/\/technet.microsoft.com\/en-us\/library\/jj612867(v=ws.11).aspx\">Appendix A<\/a> referenced above, and click next.\u00a0 The prompt will change to provide a notice.
