As a managed service, Azure Batch handles the heavy lifting of provisioning, monitoring and scaling virtual machines. You create an Azure Batch account, within minutes have the resources you require, and can scale up and down as the volume of jobs and tasks change. It\u2019s based on the popular open-source <\/span><\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/redis.io\/\"><span><span>Redis Cache<\/span><\/span><\/a><span><span>, and it gives you access to a secured, dedicated <\/span><\/span><span><span>Redis<\/span><\/span><span><span> cache that\u2019s managed by Microsoft.<\/span><\/span><span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span>Azure <\/span><\/span><span><span>Redis<\/span><\/span><span><span> Cache is offered in <\/span><\/span><span><span>the following<\/span><\/span><span><span> tiers:<\/span><\/span><span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><i><span><span>Basic:<\/span><\/span><\/i><span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span> <span><span>This is a single cache node, <\/span><\/span><span><span>multiple sizes, <\/span><\/span><span><span>ideal for development\/test and non<\/span><\/span><span><span>&#8211;<\/span><\/span><span><span>critical workloads.<\/span><\/span><span><span> The basic tier has no SLA.<\/span><\/span><span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><i><span><span>Standard:<\/span><\/span><\/i><span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span> <span><span>This is a replicated cache in a two-node Primary\/Secondary configuration. <\/span><\/span><span><span>Microsoft <\/span><\/span><span><span>manage<\/span><\/span><span><span>s<\/span><\/span><span><span> automatic replication between the two nodes. <\/span><\/span><span><span>A<\/span><\/span> <span><span>high availability <\/span><\/span><span><span>SLA is available on the Standard tier.<\/span><\/span><span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><i><span><span>Premium:<\/span><\/span><\/i> <span><span>The new Premium tier includes a high availability SLA and all the Standard-tier features and more, such as better performance over Basic or Standard-tier Caches, bigger workloads, disaster recovery, and enhanced security. Additional features include:\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span><span>Redis<\/span><\/span><span><span> persistence allows you to persist data stored in <\/span><\/span><span><span>Redis<\/span><\/span><span><span> cache. You can also take snapshots and back up the data which you can load in case of a failure.<\/span><\/span><span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span><span>Redis<\/span><\/span><span><span> cluster automatically shards data across multiple <\/span><\/span><span><span>Redis<\/span><\/span><span><span> nodes, so you can create workloads of bigger memory sizes (greater than 53 GB) and get better performance.<\/span><\/span><span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span><span>Azure Virtual Network (VNET) deployment provides enhanced security and isolation for your Azure <\/span><\/span><span><span>Redis<\/span><\/span><span><span> Cache, as well as subnets, access control policies, and other features to further restrict access.<\/span><\/span><span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span><span>Basic and Standard caches are available in sizes up to 53 GB and Premium caches are available in sizes up to 530 GB.<\/span><\/span><span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><span><span>Benefits include:<\/span><\/span><\/b><span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><i><span><span>High performance:<\/span><\/span><\/i><span><span> Azure <\/span><\/span><span><span>Redis<\/span><\/span><span><span> Cache helps your application become more responsive, even as user load increases. It also leverages the low-latency, high-throughput capabilities of the <\/span><\/span><span><span>Redis<\/span><\/span><span><span> engine. This separate distributed cache layer allows your data tier to scale independently for more efficient use of compute resources in your application layer.<\/span><\/span><span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><i><span><span>Great features:<\/span><\/span><\/i> <span><span>Redis<\/span><\/span><span><span> is an advanced key-value store, where keys can contain data structures. It supports a set of atomic operations on these data types, and it supports <\/span><\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/redis.io\/topics\/replication\"><span><span>master\/subordinate replication<\/span><\/span><\/a><span><span>, with fast non-blocking first synchronization, auto-reconnection on net split, and more. Other features include <\/span><\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/redis.io\/topics\/transactions\"><span><span>transactions<\/span><\/span><\/a><span><span>, <\/span><\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/redis.io\/topics\/pubsub\"><span><span>Pub\/Sub<\/span><\/span><\/a><span><span>, <\/span><\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/redis.io\/commands\/eval\"><span><span>Lua scripting<\/span><\/span><\/a><span><span>, and <\/span><\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/redis.io\/commands\/expire\"><span><span>keys with a limited time to live<\/span><\/span><\/a><span><span>.<\/span><\/span><span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><i><span><span>Easy to use and manage:<\/span><\/span><\/i><span><span> Provision <\/span><\/span><span><span>Redis<\/span><\/span><span><span> cache using Powershell.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span><span>You can use <\/span><\/span><span><span>Redis<\/span><\/span><span><span> from <\/span><\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/redis.io\/clients\"><span><span>most programming languages<\/span><\/span><\/a><span><span> used today. In the upcoming weeks you will also be able to easily manage and monitor health and performance in the new portal.
