{"id":2105,"date":"2016-09-14T18:20:49","date_gmt":"2016-09-14T22:20:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.msdn.microsoft.com\/azuregov\/?p=2105"},"modified":"2016-09-14T18:20:49","modified_gmt":"2016-09-14T22:20:49","slug":"microsoft-azure-government-itar-compliant","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/devblogs.microsoft.com\/azuregov\/microsoft-azure-government-itar-compliant\/","title":{"rendered":"Microsoft Azure Government continuing to add to ITAR product catalog"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Microsoft Azure announced in June of 2016 that the Microsoft Azure Government (MAG) region can now support the processing and storing of ITAR-regulated workloads and controlled applications. Since the announcement, we have added over 8 services to the ITAR product catalog. ITAR, or International Traffic in Arms Regulations, controls the export and import of defense related articles and services on the United States Munitions List (USML). ITAR stipulates that all regulated data must be stored and processed in an environment where logical and physical access is limited to US Persons.<\/p>\n<p>Microsoft Azure Government, which has already been granted Authority to Operation (ATO) at the FedRAMP Moderate and High authorizations, has already implemented a series of controls and have passed an independent security assessment, by a third party auditor.\u00a0 ITAR Readiness leverages those controls, adds additional access restrictions to US Persons, and establishes a robust (proactive and reactive) Incident Response plan for customers.<\/p>\n<p>You can read more about Azure\u2019s security processes, certifications, and accreditations in the <a href=\"https:\/\/azure.microsoft.com\/en-us\/support\/trust-center\/\">Azure Trust Center<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The following Azure Products are now available for ITAR regulated workloads:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Azure Virtual Machines<\/li>\n<li>Azure Storage<\/li>\n<li>SQL Database<\/li>\n<li>Document DB<\/li>\n<li>App Service: Web Apps<\/li>\n<li>Application Gateway<\/li>\n<li>Cloud Services<\/li>\n<li>Storage<\/li>\n<li>Traffic Manager<\/li>\n<li>Virtual Network<\/li>\n<li>VPN Gateway<\/li>\n<li>Azure Active Directory<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Cloud and App Services may be used as long as the design and implementation complies with ITAR access and processing regulations.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"margin: 0px;line-height: 107%;font-family: 'Segoe UI',sans-serif;font-size: 10.5pt\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">Guidance on storing and processing ITAR guidance can be found <a href=\"https:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/en-us\/TrustCenter\/Compliance\/itar\">here<\/a>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Getting Access <\/span><\/p>\n<p>Government agencies, contractors, software integrators, and service providers with a need to meet ITAR requirements within Azure Government must sign an Azure Government (US) Enterprise Agreement.\u00a0 Company eligibility for ITAR processing can be found <a href=\"https:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/en-us\/trustcenter\/Compliance\/ITAR\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>To stay up to date on all things Azure Government, be sure to subscribe to our <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.msdn.microsoft.com\/azuregov\/feed\/\">RSS feed<\/a> and to receive emails by clicking \u201cSubscribe by Email!\u201d on the <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.msdn.microsoft.com\/azuregov\/\">Azure Government Blog<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Microsoft Azure announced in June of 2016 that the Microsoft Azure Government (MAG) region can now support the processing and storing of ITAR-regulated workloads and controlled applications.
