Snowflake now available on Azure Government

Lily Kim, General Manager, Azure Global

Snowflake, the data warehouse built for the cloud, is now generally available on Microsoft Azure Government.

Snowflake is a data warehouse-as-a-service, which requires no management and features separate compute, storage, and cloud services that can scale and change independently. Snowflake’s architecture provides complete relational database support for both structured data, such as CSV files and tables, and semi-structured data, including JSON, Avro, Parquet, etc., all within a single, logically integrated solution.

“The general availability of Snowflake on Microsoft Azure Government marks the first time Snowflake is being offered in a government region,” Snowflake Regional Vice President of the U.S. Federal Business, Ro Dhanda said. “With Snowflake on Azure Government, agencies get the performance, scalability and simplicity of the most powerful cloud-built data warehouse while simultaneously meeting strict government security and compliance requirements.”

Snowflake is compatible with popular ETL and BI tools and enables data warehouse managers to support enterprise-wide data warehouse requirements with virtually unlimited concurrency.
