Hybrid is not a trend or a buzz word, it is a reality that every enterprise is facing today. Furthermore, real hybrid does not mean infrastructure alone. It applies to the entire stack from SaaS-based productivity services to PaaS and of course IaaS. It means consistency across on-premises and the cloud.

A key part of Microsoft’s Hybrid story for government is ExpressRoute which will be the focus of our next DC Azure Government Meetup Wednesday, Dec. 14 from 6 – 8:30 p.m. at 1776 in Washington, DC.  We are fortunate to have James Walters, director of Azure EcoSystem Networking for Microsoft Azure Government joining us for this month’s Meetup. James will present insights and best practices on hybrid cloud with ExpressRoute including:

  • Overview of ExpressRoute which creates private connections between Azure datacenters and infrastructure on your premises or in a colocation environment
  • Various considerations when setting up ExpressRoute including location, traffic options, service providers, connection types , billing models, and more

We will also feature an end-of-year Azure Government review and a look ahead as there’s a new service released on average every 32 hours.  Please RSVP and join us for great networking and presentations along with food, drinks and holiday cheer at our last DC Azure Government Meetup of 2016.

We welcome your comments and suggestions to help us continually improve your Azure Government experience.
