Since this release our team has been working hard to improve Visual Studio App Center’s Windows support.

General Availability for WPF and WinForms applications

This month, we’re excited to announce the General Availability support for WPF and WinForms applications, targeting both .NET Framework and .NET Core 3. You can learn more about the feature set in the August blog post and integrate the latest App Center SDK here.

As part of the October release, we also introduced new features for UWP applications.

New and Improved Diagnostics Support for UWP applications

Prior to this October release, App Center crash reporting was only supported for UWP applications distributed through the Windows Store. We know developers need to monitor app health even before publishing to the store and oftentimes build sideloaded apps that are never released through the store. Today we are delighted to announce diagnostics support for sideloaded UWP applications. With this SDK release, you’ll notice a new experience including the ability to track handled exceptions, search through issues, set a user identifier, and more. Learn more about the new UWP experience in our Windows diagnostics documentation.

Push Notifications Updates for UWP applications

For developers who set the User Identifier for their users through the SDK, we now offer the ability to send push notifications to those users. Learn more in our App Center Push documentation.

What’s Next?

The team is still exploring different initiatives for Windows and we’d love to hear from the community.
